I wasted my time and money on this. Control of the skier is absolute zero. I don't know what the intent was, but it doesn't worth the time. I tried and tried and at the end... disappointed. Think about making it easier to maneuver around. It is too much or too little. A slalom in which you make turns looking like going around the world is not slalom. It needs to be quick and short, but it is never at all...
I am a skier. Fixed camera only shows your face rather than the slope you ski. No first person view. This game is not realistic or fun at all.
You just have to read the other critical reviews to know the pitfalls... control of the skier is clunky, the camera angle gives you no idea of the upcoming turns... it has serious potential and could be great fun, but currently it's not worth the time.
Game is okay. But the turning is very unresponsive. I feel that we shouldn't have to tap then swipe to actuate a turn, it should just be a swipe.
The controls are hard to master, but once you've spent 1hour in the game, it gets really easier. You should start playing speed before gs or slalom, because it is easier. Also, there is a lot of contents to buy, but you don't need it. If you can afford one or two pack in the early division, it really helps to progress quickly. Also, the game isn't laggy at all. But there are some flaws, like connectivity issues. Considering it was released yesterday, this game is awesome!
Controls sucks, it's very hard to subtly change the direction of the skier. The camera angle changes from run to run and you don't even have any idea what is coming next on the course. Very unfortunate, would love a good ski racing app/game
All events have disappeared. What happened? Just when I was getting the hang of it, some race to Cortina started and no events to play. No races. Edit: rubbish. It's not possible to play anymore. Why?😥
Dunno how they improve from here? Official game so plenty of money invested and what they have provided is a complete turd. Sack the devs and start again. Unacceptable
Challenging and addictive. After practicing and learning the courses, it's super fun trying to beat other players and improve your time.
Finally a real game about alpine ski racing! This has taken up my full day, I play it in on the chairlift, in the lodge! Nothing gets me more excited!
I've somewhat gotten the hang of the controls, however they are still very counterintuitive. Matchmaking is the worst I've ever seen, ever. For someone with 0 tokens to be put up against one with 1100 or more is unacceptable from an "official" game. So unless you plan on pumping good money into this game, I suggest not installing it because you can't enjoy it like this, which is a shame, because, overall, the game has potential
Controls are terrible, either you make a really short turn or a very long turn, most of the time the game doesn't even recognize that I want to turn and I go straight into the b net. Good idea poorly executed. Also the performance is terrible on s9 plus especially slalom I get like 5 fpa. The other disciplines are good but slalom lags a lot
Getting about 3 frames a sec on Nexus 5x w no option to change graphics settings. Also, no option to change view to see down the hill, how are we suppose to look ahead a plan our line?
Considering that this game is endorsed by the governing body of skiing, it is VERY DISAPPOINTING. The controls are clumsy and unimaginative at best. MEMO TO FIS A ski racer should surely be looking for his / her race line at least one turn ahead. This game makes such planning impossible. Perhaps talk to professional ski racers, add in actual helmet camera footage of the race courses then fine tune the game's mechanics. Such a wonderful opportunity for a quality skiing game is being wasted.
I like the idea of the game. The bigger of two problems is not seeing where you're going, until just before the gate. This makes it a lot harder for casual players (as I guess most are), since they probably don't know each of the courses by heart. Turning the camera by 180° would certainly help. The other problem is the controls. It is barely impossible to do something between a huge and a tiny turn. And since correcting the turn afterwards slows down your skier, the speed goes down immenselytoo
